Suzanne Beverly

Suzanne Beverly (nee Gunther) departed this life on March 3, 2015 after a courageous battle with the devastating aftermath of a stroke suffered in 2013. Suzanne was born September 30, 1934 in Pittsburg, PA the eldest of the two children of Claude and LaVaughn Gunther.

She met the love of her life James Beverly while a student at The University of Akron. They married in May of 1954 and became the proud parents of two daughters; Alisa and Pamela.

Suzanne was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a talented painter, pianist and had a beautiful voice which she shared with others as a member of the Trinity Methodist Choir. She was an avid bridge player and would rarely give up an opportunity to play.

Suzanne is survived by her brother Richard Gunther and sister-in-law Sue; daughter, Alisa Broussard and grandchildren, Pete, Kathryn and Elizabeth and great-grandson Austin. She is also survived by daughter, Pamela and son-in-law Wesley Callaway and granddaughters Lauren and Samantha.

The family would also like to thank Suzanne’s caregiver Josiette Pickens and the staff of Harbor Hospice.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel. Vivistation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
