Obituary
Lela Mae Hale Williams, 93, a native of Verda, Louisiana and resident of Cedar Park, Texas, died August 27, 2014.
Gravesides services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday evening, September 5, 2014 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
Lela Mae, and her husband, Owen, made their home for most of their married life in and around Beaumont, Texas. She was a longtime member of Rosedale Baptist Church in Beaumont.
She is survived by one son, Doug Williams of Colleyville, Texas and one daughter, Barbara Williams Stratton of Cedar Park, Texas. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Owen Williams; her parents, Homer and Belle (James) Hale; one daughter, Glenda Faye Williams Harmon, one granddaughter, Stephanie L. Williams Graham, one great-granddaughter, Adashia Edison; six brothers, Wesley, Ozro, Dick, Jeff, Charles and Murdock Hale; and one sister, Gertie Hale McManus.
