Laura Vivian Bean

Laura Vivian Bean of Hitchcock, Texas passed from this life on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the age of 100 years old.

She was born to Robert and Alice Harrington in Beaumont, Texas on April 19, 1926.

Laura lived a full and enriched life with one of the greatest events being when she was saved at the age of 14. She was a founding member of Pine Burr Baptist Church and remained faithful for 53 years, until it was disbanded in 2012. Laura loved her church and served as a Sunday School teacher for 35 years and sang in the choir for 25 years. She was currently a member of Heritage Park Baptist Church in Webster, Texas.

Laura made the observation that "Simple things in life are best". Her stories and memories reflect her love for her family and things that made her life special. She met the love of her life, Frank, who would ride his horse to come to visit her. He would often entertain her by playing the guitar and singing in his younger days. She shared 59 beautiful years with him before she lost him in November of 2002.

Laura is lovingly remembered by her son, Gary Bean and his wife, Karen; and four grandchildren, Chris Bean, Brian Bean and his wife, Elizabeth, Brent Bean and his wife, Heather, and Krystal Bailey and her husband, Brandon. Her life was blessed with six great-grandchildren, Brendan Bean, Kaylee Bean, Blake Bailey, Kara Bailey, Colt Bean, and Torrin Webb.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bean; her son, Ronald Bean; and her parents, Robert and Alice Harrington.

Laura's life will be celebrated with a visitation on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at LaBrie Claybar Funeral Home, 1155 N 11th Street, Beaumont, Texas 77702.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at LaBrie Claybar Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, Texas.

Laura would like you to remember, "When I am gone, you will not have lost me, you know where I'll be. I love you all.”

Laura will hold a special place in my heart. My fondest memory is of her serving VBS snacks to us on the side porch and sometimes sno-cones. She always had a smile and loving spirit. I was always inspired by her and would be the “snack lady” at my church VBS. She was also a wonderful seamstress and made bridesmaid dresses for me. Our hearts and prayers are with her family. Love you all!
