Obituary

Janice Claire Dixon, 71, of West Orange, died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange, with Reverend Todd Beasley, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange on December 29, 1935, she was the daughter of Elmer Cody Saxon and Clarice Buchanan Saxon Stephenson.

Mrs. Dixon was an elementary school teacher with the West Orange-Cove CISD, retiring after 32 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Orange and the Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by her husband, Nelson Dixon of West Orange; daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Kerry Olson of Orange, Melanie and Brett Tekker of Waxhaw, North Carolina; grandsons, Cameron and Grant Tekker; sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Keith Berry of Denver, Colorado.

Serving as pallbearers will be Oscar Dixon, Mike Dixon, Kerry Olson, Brett Tekker, J. C. Rush and Curtis Dixon. Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron Tekker and Grant Tekker.

For those who wish, memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor?s choice.

Janice was my very first friend that I remember - we met in the third grade in Orange and went all through school together.
