A Life Remembered

Obituary

**James Thomas Wismer**

*October 24, 1961 - January 25, 2026*

James Wismer, age 64, of Kountze, Texas, peacefully passed away on January 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of those he cherished. He now rests with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after bravely facing a long illness.

James was known for his quick wit and his ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him. His passion for the Dallas Cowboys, particularly the cheerleaders, was well-known among his friends and family.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, James later moved to the Beaumont area in his early twenties. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Sonny Wismer and Wanda Green Wismer. James is survived by his devoted sister, Jeannie Wismer of Kountze, Texas; his aunt, Kay Mullins of Griffin, Georgia; and a host of cousins who will fondly remember him. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Paradigm Nursing in Kountze for their compassionate care.

A Graveside service to honor James's life will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Dry Creek Cemetery in Dry Creek, Louisiana.

In our hearts, we carry the promise of reuniting with James in heaven, where we will celebrate his life and the joy he brought to so many.
