James Gordon Murphy

James Gordon Murphy, 83, of Jasper, Texas was born December 6, 1935 in Texas and passed away February 21, 2018 at Harbor House Hospice in Beaumont.

A longtime resident of Jasper, Mr. Murphy was a US Air Force veteran, a member of First Baptist Church of Jasper, a former police officer in Alaska and retired as a civil service accountant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Gordon Matthew Currithers and Virginia (Allen) Currithers.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Johnson and husband, Ricky of Pensacola, Florida; grandchildren, Jedediah, Christian and Juliana Johnson; great-grandson, Draven Johnson; and sisters, Margo Jordan, Coleen English and GageLee

A memorial service honoring his life will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 6:00pm in the First Baptist Church of Jasper.
