Obituary

Helena C. Duffy, 92, of Beaumont was born October 12, 1924 in Providence, Rhode Island and passed away in Beaumont. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church in Beaumont.

Helena worked for Sam’s Western Wear for many years and also as a secretary for H&H Electric. She was a devoted sister and friend who had an amazing way of lifting the spirits all who knew her.

Helena also had a deep love for animals - especially her dogs. They were family to her. They blessed her life as she blessed theirs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Maria Camara; husband, John Francis Duffy; brother, Joseph Camara and sister, Mary Peters. She is survived by her brother, George Camara, and numerous friends and relatives who will miss her dearly.

Following cremation, she will be buried in Magnolia Cemetery next to her husband.

Just now seeing that you’re gone.. my heart is broken it took me so long to find out. I used to live right behind Mrs.Duffy. She would always let me use her phone and pet Cowboy when she was gardening. Miss you dearly, thank you for everything.

She was the secretary when my father worked at H&H. She was a wonderful lady and for. Any years my sister and I received handmade crocheted gifts from her at Christmas. I still have a two pair of lace up slippers/booties she made me. I just now went and looked at them in my sock drawer. The last time I saw her was July 2011 at my parents 50th anniversary reception. Still spunky, funny and full of life. Rest In Peace Helen!

We were not blood, but you were my aunt. We spent over 20 years of holidays together and they are some of the warmest memories of my life as I have become older. You were spunky, full of life, hysterical and kind hearted. I will love and miss you forever.

A trip to the western store meant a day to see Mrs. Duffy for me as a child. The beautiful things she made for me I have cherished for over 50 years and will cherish forever. But more so, I will cherish her. She sought me out in 2011 at my father's funeral to give me the Valentine that I had given her on February 14, 1967. The reconnection was wonderful and I love her for that. And I love her for remembering every detail about me. I am thankful for the reconnection to her, getting to know her as an adult and for the opportunity to say good bye. Strong, creative and a perfect friend, Helen Duffy. Ms.Helen was a sweet woman with a great since of humor, she had a way of making anyone she was talking to feel as if they were her best friend. I will miss her and enjoyed having the opportunity to be her caregiver ,and friend. She will always hold a special place in my heart. R.I.P.Cowboy.
