Helen E. Duke

Helen E. Duke, 90 of Village Mills, Texas passed away Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the Silsbee Oaks Health Care in Silsbee, Texas.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007 in China Cemetery with Reverend Lane Eaton officiating. Her family will receive guests from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Duke was born in Garland, Texas August 27, 1916 to Dee Witt Harrison and Lula Caldonia Hendrix Harrison. She loved gardening, especially growing daylilies and sewing. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hye C. Duke and two great nephews, Barry Linn Hartt and David McDowell.

She is survived by her sister, Loreta Hartt of Canyon Lake; nephew, Barry Hartt and wife, Velmalynn of Village Mills; niece, Patricia McDowell of Canyon Lake, Texas; great nieces and nephews, Clint Hartt of Beaumont, Connie Hartt of Beaumont, Malinda Harton and husband, Wade of Magnolia, Texas, Dr. Dee Hartt and wife, Angie of Tatum, Texas, Robby McDowell and wife, Carol of California and Cindy Boex and husband, Tony of Nebraska and several close friends and family members.

Luke, myself and my mother Nova D DuBose are sadden with the passing of Helen. Mother and Helen were friends for many years. Mother would come down and stay with Helen some when she was able to stay by herself. Luke and I thought the whole of Hye and H##imported-begin##Harriet Latino##imported-end##
