Grace Mary Whitman

Grace Mary Whitman, 88, of Vidor passed away November 9, 2013 in Houston, TX. She was born May 11, 1925 in Slagle, LA to Joseph and Mary Leone Garcia. Grace’s life was devoted to making a home for her husband and children.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor, TX. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.

Surviving Mrs. Whitman are her children, Sarah Robertson, of Vidor, TX, Kathy Padilla and her husband, Bob, of Austin, TX, Theresa Cox and her husband, Ted, of Cypress, TX, Mike Whitman and his wife, Sherry, of Vidor, TX, Steven Whitman and his wife, Margo, of Slidell, LA, and Paul Whitman, of Austin, TX; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond Whitman and one grandson, Chris Peppo.
