A Life Remembered

Obituary

Elia Landa Martinez

Elia Landa Martinez, 82, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on August 5, 2024, at her home in Beaumont, Texas.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, Friday, August 9, 2024, and Saturday August 10, 2024, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. With the talk starting at 3:00pm given by Brother Oscar Caballero.

Born in Valle Hermoso, Mexico, on July 29, 1942, she was the daughter of Paulino Landa and Aurelia Landa. Elia was known for her friendly nature and being a chatterbox with the loudest laugh that warmed the hearts of everyone around her. Her love for cleanliness was evident as everything had to be spick and span in her world. Her passion for travel took her far and wide. Among Elia's passions were tending to her beautiful flower garden and caring for animals. Elia's faith was an integral part of her life, and she took great pleasure in leading others towards the love of God through her actions and words. May she rest in peace knowing that she made a significant impact on all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paulino Landa and Aurelia Landa; and her sons, Robert Martinez and Alex Martinez.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Roberto Martinez; her daughter, Areli Duran and husband Eddie of Beaumont, Texas; her grandchildren, Eddie Duran Jr. and wife Hazel, Giovanni Duran, Alexa Duran and partner Steven Manzano; her great-grandchildren, Nyana Duran, Santino A. Duran, Nylah Manzano, and Xavier I. Manzano; her siblings, Leonor Landa, Hortencia Landa, Daniel Landa, and Elena Landa; and numerus other loving family and friends.

Amazing, strong, loving woman! Always positive and caring! She showed so much love to everyone she met. Even a little lost boy that she help raise into a man!
