Clyde E. Allen

Clyde Emery Allen, 81, was born October 11, 1932 in Dallas, TX to Cecil and Nona Dudley Allen and passed away December 10, 2013 in Beaumont, TX. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:30 – 7:30 PM, Thursday, December 12 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home. Funeral services, officiated by Reverend James Boykin and Reverend Clarence Day, will be 1:00 PM, Friday, December 13 at Sabine Tabernacle with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Allen was an 11th Airborne US Army veteran, a resident of Beaumont since 1956 and was the owner of Beaumont Ready-Mix Concrete Company and was employed in construction most of his life. He was a faithful member of Sabine Tabernacle, where his family still attends.

Clyde E. Allen is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Weston Allen; his children, Terry Harper and husband, Jon, Barry Allen and wife, Kristy and Mike Allen and wife, Shanna; five grandchildren, Joseph and Jason Brown, Barry Weston Allen Jr., Courtney Anne and Allison Brooke Allen; two great granddaughters, Jailyn and Paisley Brown; brothers, Bill Shelton and wife, Betty and Robert Allen and wife, Shirley; sister, Barbara Blake and sister-in-law, Dorothy Allen, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Carl Allen.
