Born in the front bedroom of the still standing home in Pineland, Texas, on August 27, 1943, he was the son of Tom Armstrong and Blanche Armstrong. Known by his friends and family as Sherrill, he lived a life characterized by hard work, integrity, and a love for the outdoors. Throughout his career, Sherrill proudly worked as a carpenter with the Union, demonstrating craftsmanship and commitment to his trade. His work ethic was mirrored in his passion for various outdoor activities. Sherrill was an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman, with a particular fondness for crabbing and planting trees. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to create lasting memories with his loved ones.
